ecovio^_®

ecovio^_® is a high-quality and versatile bioplastic from BASF. The primary advantages: It is certified compostable and partly bio-based. It thus supports circular economy by closing the nutrient loop of the food value chain.

The main application areas for ecovio^® are plastic films for organic waste bags, fruit and vegetable bags, cling film, dual-use bags (first for shopping, then for organic waste) and agricultural mulch films. Compostable packaging solutions such as paper-coating as well as injection molding and thermoformed products can be also be manufactured with ecovio^®.

Products made of ecovio^® are just as high-performing and strong in use as conventional plastics. The product properties are designed in such a way that the products only fully biodegrade in compost after use. ecovio^® encompasses various product grades that meet all major international and national standards for industrial as well as home composting and for soil-biodegradability.
